Brand Spotlight: Lush Debuts Easter Range

As Easter looms, Lush cosmetics pulls the rabbit out of the hat – literally – with a selection of sweet surprises that pair their trademark humour with their animal-friendly image.

The traditional Easter symbols of chick, egg and rabbit are heavily riffed upon in the new range, where oval-shaped bath bombs compete with bunny jelly masks and chick bath bombs. Scents are also playful – whether the rabbit mask’s refreshing carrot concoction, the indulgent chocolate aroma of their colourful soaps, or the spring-like, floral notes of bath and shower products.

In true Lush form, packaging was not to be overlooked, either – one collection is encased in a gold egg shell, while another is wrapped to resemble a carrot, and a third draws on the mythology of the Easter Bunny’s basket, with a selection of products bundled in a flurry of floral fabric.

While many confectionery companies are eagerly anticipating Easter, it seems most beauty brands are yet to jump on the bandwagon; instead, they’re looking ahead to SS17. For Lush, however, it marks another year of Easter-themed goodies – 2016 saw ‘humpty dumpty’ products and crackable bath bombs in a play on the egg motif, while an earlier collection in 2013 had a piñata-style, glitter-filled hen bath bomb and an ‘Easter egg hunt’ soap display with an array of springtime scents.
